WPL 2024, Delhi Capitals qualify for playoffs: Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals won the playoff ticket by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 1 run in a thrilling match on Sunday night, March 10. DC has become the second team to reach the playoffs. Earlier, Mumbai Indians had won the playoff ticket.

Now only one spot is vacant for the knockout stage of WPL 2024 and for this there will be a battle between RCB and UP. Both the teams are at third and fourth position in the points table with 6-6 points.

Battle between Delhi-Mumbai to go straight to the final :-

The battle to become number-1 continues between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. DC has once again topped the points table by winning its 5th match of the season on Sunday night. Both DC and MI have equal 10-10 points in the points table, but due to better net run rate, Delhi Capitals team is on top. Let us tell you, the team finishing on top in the points table will directly qualify for the playoffs, while the team finishing second will have to play the eliminator match.

How was the Delhi vs RCB match?

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Delhi Capitals scored 181 runs on the board at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs on the basis of half-century by Jemimah Rodrigues (58) and brilliant innings of 48 runs by Alice Capsey. RCB team, which came to chase this score, could reach only 180 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Bangalore had to face defeat by just 1 run in this exciting match.

In the last over, RCB needed 17 runs to win. Richa Ghosh played a brilliant inning and gave Delhi a boost, but she was run out on the last ball due to which Bangalore could not cross the victory line.
