WPL 2024 Schedule: After the successful first season of the Women’s Premier League, now the schedule for its second season will be released in Diwali this year. In fact, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said on Friday that the board is considering the possibility of scheduling the next season of WPL in the Diwali window.

WPL 2024 is to be played in home and away format with a bigger window from next season
Shah also said that from next season, WPL will be played in home and away format with a bigger window. The inaugural edition of the tournament will be held from March 4-26 at two venues in Mumbai.

Shah, during an interaction with media persons, said, “We are looking at the possibility of scheduling the WPL in home and away format in the Diwali window. Not two seasons in a year but just a different time window.”
Shah further added, “Women’s cricket now has a dedicated viewership. And this number will continue to grow as we expect an encouraging attendance at the next WPL.”

Awaiting response from other countries to finalize the 2023 Asia Cup venue and get clarity on the India-Pakistan match
Apart from this, the BCCI secretary said regarding the Asia Cup, the feedback on the Asia Cup venue. That was sought from the participating countries in the tournament. While Shah had already made it clear that India would not travel to Pakistan to play in the Asia Cup. He also said that feedback has been sought from other countries on possible replacement venues. “We are awaiting feedback from other countries to finalize the venue of the 2023 Asia Cup. And have clarity on the India-Pakistan match,” Shah said.
