WPL 2024: This rule was used for the first time in the match played between DC and GG: –

On Sunday, March 3, the WPL 2024 10th match was played between Gujarat Giants and Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, in which a concussion substitute was used for the first time in WPL history.

In fact, during the 15th over of Delhi Capitals’ innings, Hemalatha suffered a head injury while trying to take a catch at deep midwicket off the ball of Katherine Bryce, after which she was taken out of the field by the physio.

After this, according to the rule of concussion substitute, all-rounder Sayali Satghare was brought in place of Dayalan Hemalatha and then the match proceeded.

Who is Sayali Satghare?

With Hemlatha ruled out of the remainder of the match after suffering an injury, Sayali was cleared as her concussion replacement during the chase of 164.

Let us tell you, Sayali Satghare had replaced Kashvi Gautam in the Gujarat Giants team, who was bought for Rs 2 crore in the auction. Earlier, Sayali had gone unsold in the WPL 2024 auction and was then bought for her base price of Rs 10 lakh.
