Wriddhiman Saha has decided not to reveal the name of the journalist who made the threat. Whose text message he shared on Twitter.

Saha is not inclined to reveal the name

Wriddhiman Saha has become the main topic of discussion in Indian cricket since then. Ever since he exposed a journalist’s ‘threatening text’ on social media. While the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly keen to ask Saha who the said magazine is. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman is not inclined to reveal the name.

Saha doesn’t want to ruin journalist’s career-

After several former Indian cricketers urged BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to get to the root of the problem. Treasurer Arun Dhumal confirmed on Monday that the board would ask Saha to share the name of the journalist. However, Saha does not want to go that route as it may ruin the career of the said journalist.

This is not my parents’ education-

I have not received any communication from BCCI yet. If they ask me to reveal (journalist’s) name, I will tell them that it was never my intention to harm anyone’s career, to demean any person. That’s why I didn’t reveal the name in my tweet. This is not my parents’ education. The main purpose of my tweet was to highlight the fact that there is someone in the media who does such things, disrespects the will of a player,” Saha was quote as saying by The Indian Express.

Captioning the tweet, Saha had said:

“After all my contributions to Indian cricket. This is what I have to deal with from a so-called “respected” journalist. This is where journalism has gone.”

Saha also confirmed that Ganguly is yet to contact him in the matter. But Pragyan Ojha, the Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA) representative in the IPL Governing Council, did contact him.

“The Ojha called me and said, ‘I won’t ask you anything personal. If you think you want to go ahead with this or pursue the matter legally, BCCI will support you. I told him That at the moment I was not ready for it. And told him the reasons. He replied saying, it was completely my decision,” Saha said.

Saha is not a part of India’s Test series against Sri Lanka-

Saha is not a part of India’s Test series against Sri Lanka. And He will not participate in the Ranji Trophy season. The veteran wicketkeeper, however, clarified that not playing the Ranji Trophy. He has nothing to do with Team India’s selection, but the fact that his wife had contracted dengue recently.
