WTC Final 2023: Anil Patel Appointed Indian Team Manager For World Test Championship Final

Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Anil Patel has been appointed as the manager of the Indian cricket team for the World Test Championship (WTC) final. India will face Australia in the WTC final from June 7 at The Oval, London. Anil Patel was earlier appointed as the manager of the team for the series played in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The period from 1984 to 1999 was the worst phase for Gujarat cricket. In those 15 years the team could not win a single match. Most of the matches were one-sided defeats. Anil Patel was then made the coach of the senior Ranji team. At that time he was preparing the Under-19 team.

Better performance under the coaching of Anil Patel :-

It is noteworthy that between 1984 and 1999, the Gujarat team played 65 Ranji matches, out of which 25 were lost and 40 were drawn. The team could not win a single match. The team which did not win a single match in 15 years. Anil Patel won 6 matches in his first year as coach, including 3 ODIs and 3 Ranji Trophy matches.
