WTC Standings: Team India in fifth place, Sri Lanka at first, know- the condition of other teams

Dubai, PTI. India remains at the fifth position in the latest World Test Championship Rankings (WTC Rankings) released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday. Significantly, India is the runner-up of the last World Test Championship. The team is at the fifth position in the second cycle of this championship with a percentage of points won (PCT) of 49.07. The PCT taken into account instead of the points earned for ranking.

India has played nine Tests in the second round of the WTC

India played nine Tests in the second round of the WTC, winning four, losing three and drawing two. In such a situation, it has 53 points, which is the highest among all the teams so far. The team will have a chance to improve their position next month when Sri Lanka tour India for two Test matches.

Sri Lanka cricket team leads the standings with 100 pct. He won both the Tests he played in this cycle of the Test Championship. He is followed by Australia, whose PCT is 86.66. Pakistan (75 pct) is at the third position and South Africa is at the fourth position with 50 pct. Defending champions New Zealand beat South Africa by 276 runs in the first Test in Christchurch on Saturday. With this, he got 12 significant points and is at the sixth position with 46.66 pct.

The Kiwis, led by Kane Williamson, won the championship by defeating the Virat Kohli-led side by eight wickets. Team India scored 217 runs in the first innings and 170 runs in the second innings. On the other hand, the New Zealand team scored 249 runs in the first innings and achieved the target of 139 runs in the second innings for the loss of two wickets.
