The second edition of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) has come to an end with only the final remaining to be played in it. The final of this edition is to be played between India and Australia in London from June 7 to 11. However, before that, Cricket Australia (CA) announced the Team of the Tournament on Wednesday (March 19), which includes more than one player. Three players from India have also got a place, including the names of Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.

India played a tremendous game against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and on that basis made it to the WTC final. In the last two years, Team India played very well and Pant, Jadeja and Ashwin contributed significantly in it. However, Rishabh Pant will not be seen playing in the final match as he met with an accident and is yet to recover from his injuries.

Rishabh Pant Represented the Indian team in 12 Matches in the Current Edition

Rishabh Pant represented the Indian team in 12 matches in the current edition. During this he scored 868 runs at an average of 43.40 and also scored two centuries. His highest score was 146. These figures would have been better had the youngster not played in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Left-handed Ravindra Jadeja also had an excellent all-round performance in 12 matches. He scored 673 runs with the help of two centuries with the bat. While taking five wickets in three innings with the ball, he took a total of 43 wickets in his name.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s Performance Was also Excellent

Ravichandran Ashwin’s performance was also excellent. He took 61 wickets in 13 matches and also scored 444 runs. He also did the feat of taking five wickets in an innings twice.

WTC Team of the Tournament selected by Cricket Australia Usman Khawaja, Dimuth Karunaratne, Babar Azam, Joe Root, Travis Head, Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Pat Cummins (c), Kagiso Rabada and James Anderson.
