Younis Khan confident of Virat Kohli’s return to form

Younis Khan is confident of Virat Kohli’s return to form Many key players of Team India are returning to the field in the Asia Cup. Fans are most eager to see Virat Kohli in action, who was rested by the Indian team for the tour of West Indies and Zimbabwe. Virat Kohli has not been in good form for a long time.

Virat Kohli scored his last international century in 2019. Since then he has had a dry spell of centuries. Kohli played his last T20 International series against England, where he scored only 12 runs in two matches. Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan said that Virat Kohli is not able to perform at the level that we are used to seeing him.

Younis Khan believes Virat Kohli will be back in rhythm in the upcoming Asia Cup

Younis Khan said in a conversation with The Telegraph, ‘Babar Azam’s performance has been seen by all. He has come out in all forms. I am not saying that Kohli did not perform. But the performance due to which he became a different player, he is not being seen for some time. However, Younis Khan believes that Virat Kohli will return to the momentum in the upcoming Asia Cup.

The former Pakistan captain said, ‘It is said that form is only a matter of one or two matches. I believe Virat Kohli will once again be in great form in this Asia Cup. The stage is ready for them. The kind of performance he has done in the past against Pakistan, I think he will be able to repeat it in this Asia Cup. Younis Khan recalled his time when he was going through a bad phase. Khan advised Kohli to focus on the basics to return to form.

Younis Khan said, “Many players go through a long period of bad phase in their international career. Sometimes runs are not scored and sometimes there is no good performance. You have to realize that this could be your last match or last series. I too have struggled with such times. But I followed a simple formula. I focused on my basics. I believe that even Virat Kohli should not think too much about what lies ahead.

He further said, ‘Virat Kohli needs to go to his basics and play according to the situation. Play for the team and if you have energy, use it for yourself. Kohli needs to develop this mindset to focus on the present and not think about the past. He should focus on fighting for his team.
