World Cup 2023: Macdonald said:-

McDonald said, ‘He does not need an operation but the Australian selectors will have to consider the risk of including him in the World Cup squad. The good thing is that the head does not need surgery. He will be out for some time and will not be able to play in the first leg. We have to decide on the final 15 but I can’t give a time frame.

Head injury opened the way for Labuschagne:-

Labuschagne’s path is open due to head injury. He is not in Australia’s initial squad but has caught the eye with his impressive performance against South Africa. Changes in the ODI World Cup team can be made till September 28. After that, ICC’s permission will have to be taken for any change.
