Preview –
Like Game 1, Bangladesh batted first and posted a competitive target of 243 with the help of 125 runs from the experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim, he was their highest scorer in the first game as well.
When Sri Lanka came out to bat, they showed positive intent and scored some quick runs at the top but one shot too many from the skipper Kusal Perera led to their downfall. Pathum Nissanka player a few eye-pleasing strokes but could not continue more than 20 runs. Sri Lanka kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually finished at 141 runs for the loss of 9 wickets after 40 overs.
The responsibilities of saving some pride and securing a win will be on experienced Sri Lankan players like Kusal Perera and Kusal Mendis. Their spinners will have to restrict the runs and take wickets at regular intervals.
Pitch Report –
The pitch at Shere Bangla National stadium is generally a bowling-friendly wicket that assists spinners and this is exactly what we saw in the first two ODIs. Nearly all batsmen, except Mushfiqur Rahim, struggled on this wicket and since this will be a 2-match old pitch, spinners will be more dominant than ever.

Bangladeshi skipper Tamim Iqbal scored a brilliant fifty in the first ODI. He was in full flow in the second match as well until he got out. Before this series, he was also in good form against Sri Lanka.
Danushka Gunathilaka was in good form before arriving in this series. In both the matches, he has been able to get the starts but hasn’t been able to put up a big score. He has scored 45 runs in the two innings.
Shakib Al Hasan is one of the best all-rounders in the format. Even though he hasn’t been able to put together a big score in this series, a champion cricketer like him would bounce back.
Wanindu Hasaranga went wicketless in the 1st ODI but came back with one wicket in the 2nd ODI. He also scored 74 runs from 60 balls in the first ODI.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz has picked up seven wickets in the last two ODI matches and has been bowling well in this series.
Dushmantha Chameera bowled pretty well in the two matches. He picked up three wickets in the last match. He also picked a wicket in the first ODI.
Mushfiqur Rahim has been classy with the bat in this series and Sri Lanka hasn’t been able to handle him. He scored a match-winning 84 in the first match and then followed that up with a hundred in the next match.
