Cricket West Indies president condoled the lack of performance in the T20 World Cup. Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skerritt has hit out at the Caribbean team’s efforts in Australia.

With both Scotland and Ireland missing the Super 12 stage and early exits from the T20 World Cup, Skerritt, in a statement on social media, mourned both the group’s attitude and technical shortcomings.

The team particularly struggled with spin in Hobart, generally favoring fast bowling on the surface of the Bellerive Oval.
Chasing 161 from Richie Berrington to start the event, West Indies could only manage 146 against Ireland, a vigorous chase in just 17.3 overs overall.

“I am deeply disappointed with the results of our team’s performance in Australia and I fully appreciate the sense of disappointment that many are experiencing,” Skerritt began.
“Our batsmen’s ongoing inability to resist slow bowling remains a clear weakness in Australia, and precocious shot selection is deeply embedded in our senior team’s T20 batting culture.”
“We’ve worked hard. We’ve prepared well. It’s just that day, we didn’t do the right things. We didn’t properly assess the situation that day and did what the situation required.”
“I don’t think there was disrespect on our part. We dressed up as if we were playing someone else.”

“We have to go back and look at our structure and how we play the game and make sure that when we come to competitions and when we play in bilateral series we are prepared and required for each situation of the game. are capable of doing.”
