Rohit Sharma, Vice-Captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli

Captain Rohit Sharma, Vice-Captain KL Rahul, Virat Kohli Are The Right Choices For India As Top 3 Names To Go In T20 World Cup..

All 3 batsmen are known for their ability to settle down first and then strike. Scores of big runs are running away from India and MI captain Rohit Sharma for a long time. Rohit will certainly look to deliver a better performance of 155 runs in 9 matches at a strike rate of 123. On the other hand, Kohli’s poor form has also been going on for quite some time and 216 runs in 11 matches at a low strike-rate of 116 is neither an indication of the former captain’s quality nor his caliber. KL Rahul is playing the role of a good captain and opener for Lucknow Super Giants. He has scored 451 runs at an average of 145.

KL Rahul:

In 10 matches so far, Rahul has played 55 dots in the powerplay overs and scored a total of 141 runs off 126 balls. His strike rate is just 111.90. He has hit 15 fours and four sixes in those games in the powerplay overs.

Rohit Sharma:

During this period, Rohit Sharma has played 56 dots in the powerplay overs in 9 matches, scoring 136 runs in 104 balls at a strike-rate of 130.76.

Virat Kohli:

He has batted in 7 matches in the powerplay and played 16 dot balls. He has scored only 61 runs in 55 balls during this period.

The selectors now want to try some youngsters in the South Africa and Ireland series.

“But yes, I want Virat to take a crucial break and come back fresh before the Asia Cup,” said MSK Prasad.

MSK Prasad told PTI, “If fit, these three players are amazing. There is no such thing that you can leave any of them for the World T20. But yes, if I look at the numbers, I can try someone like Shikhar Dhawan in the opening slot. And see KL Rahul at No. 4. He has a T20 century in the middle order in Manchester a few years back.”

A member of the selection committee told InsideSport:

“Look, this is not the first time that a player is going through a rough patch. It is natural for this to happen. Anyway, we want to give a chance to some young players in the team and give a chance to the rest of the senior players. To Virat like this.
