Australia’s opening batsman David Warner has apologized to an Indian fan on social media platform X after their victory in the ICC Cricket World 2023 final. Australia won the World Cup title for the sixth time by defeating India in the final played in Ahmedabad.

David Warner apologizes after Australia’s victory

Warner had replied to the fan on Instagram who tagged David and wrote ‘By winning the World Cup final, you broke the hearts of billions of people.’

Responding to the fan, David wrote, “I apologize, it was such a great game and the atmosphere was extraordinary.” Thanks to you all.”

Fan who tagged Warner deleted his tweet

However, later this fan who tagged David deleted his tweet. But Warner’s apologetic reply went viral. Many fans advised him not to apologize for winning the World Cup and said that you have won this cup for your country.

Warner had a memorable ODI World Cup as he scored 535 runs in 11 matches. David became the second player after India captain Rohit Sharma to score more than 500 runs in consecutive ODI World Cups. In the final, Warner scored only 7 runs in three balls and then was out on the ball of Jasprit Bumrah.
