Indian team’s experienced opener Shikhar Dhawan has not been included in the team for the Asian Games. Dhawan has broken his silence for the first time after his own exclusion from the team.

The BCCI has announced the youth team for the Asian Games to be held in September-October, in which 37-year-old left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan has not found a place.

Dhawan has broken his silence for the first time after not getting a chance in the Asian Games team. Talking to PTI on Thursday, Dhawan said that I was a bit surprised when my name was not in the team for the Asian Games, but then I realized that their thought process would be different, you have to accept it. I am happy that Ruturaj will lead the team. It has all young players, I am sure they will do well.

What did Shikhar Dhawan say about his future?

Along with this, when Dhawan was asked about the future, he said that he does not know what will happen in the future, but if there is an opportunity, he is always ready for it. Dhawan said, “I will definitely be ready (to return). That’s why I am keeping myself fit, so that whenever the opportunity comes, I am ready. There is always a chance, whether it is one per cent or 20 per cent.
