A half-century from Smriti Mandhana’s gave India an excellent opening lead in the day-night Test when she was put to bat, although she was given a helping hand by Australia, who had three opportunities to remove her opening partner Shafali Verma had missed.

The Reached 101 for 1 with Australia :-

India was able to dry up the scoring rate in the second hour with Australia. At 101 for 1 which brought Shafali Verma’s wicket on the prize. It was taken at mid-off against Sophie Molyneux. Who was trying in the field?

This ended the opening stand of 93. Earlier this year, Bristol made 167 pairs against England in the first innings.

Shafali Verma’s three lives came at 3, 19, and 25. First, there was a difficult, low outside edge for Meg Lanning at first slip from Ellyse Perry, who in her opening spell of seven overs was far more steadfast in the parity of ODIs.

Verma was dropping again by Lanning. This time off left-arm spinner Molyneux. The easiest of the three opportunities is being dropped at mid-on by debutant Annabel Sutherland.

The Great Timed Shot :-

Smriti’s innings were filled with excellently timed shots from the front and back legs, although Australia’s bowlers fed her with too much width and, overall, little with the new ball.

In Test cricket, Darcy Brown’s first ball tightly to midwicket was quickly out of the block and was hit for four boundaries in Brown’s fourth over.

Darcy Brown’s opening spell ended 4-0-28-0, while fellow arrival Stella Campbell scored 14 runs in her first three overs, where the dullness of the surface negated her attempts to push the ball in.

India’s climax was that Smriti Mandhana’s completed her half-century. Within the first hour of play and Lanning was forced into more defensive areas.

She was given a bit more curb by Molyneux and Tahlia McGrath and then by Ashley Gardner. After scoring 70 runs in 15 overs for the finances, India scored 31 runs in the next 18 overs till the break.

The Show control over Shafali Verma :-

Shafali showed control, who had found life tougher than Smriti Mandhana’s half-century throughout her innings, when she tried to break ties with Australia as McGrath, caught in the fourth attempt, took the lead.

The squeeze continued till the distance with Punam Raut, who took the entire ODI post of the multi-format series with 22 balls for 1 wicket.

This is the first Test between the teams since 2006 and has four points for a series win which is currently 4–2 in Australia’s square. The home team assigned four debuts – Brown, Campbell, Sutherland, and Georgia Wareham. In which Mitchell Starc assisted in the CAP productions.

While India fielded two new players in Yastika and Meghna, who both had ridden in ODIs. Spin-bowling all-rounder Sneh Rana.
