WPL 2024 auction: The auction for the second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will be held on December 9 in Mumbai.

BCCI announced on Saturday that 165 players have registered for the WPL auction. The auction list includes 104 Indian and 61 foreign players. Out of 61 foreign players, 15 players are from associate countries.

The five WPL teams have a total of 30 slots available, with nine spots left for foreign players.

Now talking about the WPL auction, former West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin and Australia’s Kim Garth have registered for the upcoming Women’s Premier League player auction to be held in Mumbai on December 9 under the highest base price of Rs 50 lakh.

This player is at the second highest base price :-

The second highest base price is Rs 40 lakh, under which four players, all foreigners, have been listed. These players are Australian all-rounders Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Wareham, South African fast bowler Shabnim Ismail and English wicketkeeper Amy Jones.

Sri Lankan captain Chamari Athapaththu, India finisher Veda Krishnamurthy, England’s explosive opener Danny Wyatt; Australian batsman Phoebe Litchfield and New Zealand fast bowler Lee Tahuhu – who were overlooked for WPL 2023 – are back in the shortlist at a base price of Rs 30 lakh. Have come.

Of the 165, 104 are Indians and out of the remaining 64, 15 players from associate countries have been shortlisted for the second player auction. The biggest names among these include Natthakan Chantham of Thailand, Catherine Bryce of Scotland and Tara Norris of USA, who had also played in the previous edition.

Now talking about the money purse of all the teams, the highest purse of Rs 5.95 crore is available with Gujarat Giants and the lowest purse of Rs 2.1 crore is available with Mumbai Indians. Delhi Capitals has a purse of Rs 2.25 crore, UP Warriors has Rs 4 crore and Royal Challengers Bangalore has a purse of Rs 3.35 crore.
