Babar Azam: Pakistan players can be seen playing in ILT20. Earlier this year, Pakistani players were not allowed to participate in the inaugural edition of the International League T20, which was held from January 13 to February 12.

UAE-based league names top players for the first season:-

But now it is being said that PCB is considering to release the players. The UAE-based league had offered a whopping USD 450,000 (roughly Rs. 37 lakh) to the top players for the first season.

However, the organizers were ready to pay up to $900,000 (approximately Rs 74.50 lakh) to Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

He was also being offered the captaincy with a three-year contract. Along with this trio, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hasnain were also approached by various franchises for the first season.

Azam Khan did not get NOC

Azam Khan was selected by the Desert Vipers for the tournament, but was later denied a no-objection certificate (NOC) by the PCB.

Everyone was told that they will come to play the league only when they are not playing PSL (Pakistan Super League) and for the national team.

Despite this, the PCB did not allow any of its players to participate in the league. The then PCB chairman Rameez Raja had also sought compensation from the Emirates Cricket Board in exchange for releasing players for the league.

The Players are considering forming an association:-

Recently, during a meeting of the PSL Governing Council, he had also said that. It would not be possible to stop Pakistani players as the players were also considering forming an association to protect their rights.

Current PCB chief Najam Sethi does not take a hard-line stance on ILT20. Sethi believes that the PCB has good relations with the UAE. And they can hold talks on the basis of the principle of ‘give and take’.

At that time it was suggested that the next season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) should start in Dubai so that the event could be promoted and international players could be attracted.

The Franchisee does not Agree:-

However, the PSL franchise owners do not share the suggestion. He believes that releasing Pakistani players and strengthening the ILT20 would be detrimental to the PSL.

Sources say that if the current administration lasts for another three years. Then Pakistani cricketers will be seen playing in ILT20.
