BANW Announce Squad And Rest Seniors For White-Ball Series Against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh has announced their 16-member squad for the limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka in April and May.

Decided to give rest to Khatoon and Rumana Ahmed:-

The selectors have decided to rest senior members Salma Khatoon and Rumana Ahmed for the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka, with workload management a major consideration.

The pair are two of Bangladesh’s leading figures, having featured in 274 international matches for Bangladesh between themselves.

The team will also be without the services of pacer Marufa Akhtar, who will be ruled out of the series due to her upcoming exams.

Bangladesh to make up for the shortfall in the team:-

Bangladesh has brought in Sanjeeda Akhtar Maghla, Fariha Islam Trishna, Rabeya, and Sultana Khatoon to make up for the shortfall in the squad.

Khatun could be in line to make her international debut for Bangladesh, having so far been capped by the national side.

The squad will be led by talisman Nigar Sultana Joty and will leave for Sri Lanka on April 25.

They will start the tour with a three-match ODI series, which will be played from April 29 to May 4 at the P Sara Oval in Colombo. These matches will be part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
