32-year-old Stokes was bought by Chennai for a huge sum of Rs 16.25 crore
According to reports, it is believed that MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will also have no problem in releasing Stokes because if Stokes plays, he will have fewer chances of bowling in the matches against CSK. 32-year-old Stokes was bought by Chennai for a huge sum of Rs 16.25 crore in the IPL auction last year, but he could play only two matches in IPL 2023 due to a toe injury.
Why will Ben Stokes leave Chennai Super Kings?
Stokes played only as a batsman for England in the current ODI World Cup. Stokes will soon undergo knee surgery with a view to be fit before the upcoming Test series against India starts on January 24. England will play a 5-Test series against India next year, the last match of which will be from 7-11 March. Next year’s IPL is likely to be held from the last week of March to the end of May.
