On December 23 in Kochi, 405 cricketers were auctioned off for the IPL 2023
On December 23 in Kochi, 405 cricketers were auctioned off for the IPL 2023. Ten teams initially shortlisted 369 players, but 36 more players were later requested and were included in the final list.
273 of the 405 cricket players are Indian, 132 are from abroad, and 4 are from associate countries. In addition, 4 associate nations, 282 uncapped players, and 119 capped players all participated in the IPL 2023 mini-auction.
Dwayne Bravo will join the team as a bowling coach and MS Dhoni will likely take the helm for the final time
Dwayne Bravo won’t be playing for Chennai Super Kings because he declared his retirement from the IPL before the start of the new season. He’ll work with the team as their bowling instructor. He surpassed the illustrious Lasith Malinga to retire as the IPL’s most wicket-taker with 183 dismissals. CSK secured 140 of their wickets. He also used his bat to score 1004 runs for the team.
CSK kept the backbone of the team
With MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, Dwaine Pretorius, Maheesh Theekshana, and Mukesh Chowdhary, CSK kept the backbone of the team.
In addition to an Indian wicketkeeper, bowler, and batsman, they also wanted an Indian opener to serve as Gaikwad’s backup. The team has always backed uncapped Indians, and they have done the same this time around. They did well at the auction table in terms of the number of players they purchased given that they had over 20 crores to spend. The names of the players CSK kept, let go of, and purchased at the IPL 2023 auction are listed below.
