Punjab Kings have announced that Chris Gayle will leave IPL Bio-Bubble due to bubble fatigue. Coming out of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) bubble, Gayle said he wants to refresh himself mentally ahead of next month’s T20 World Cup.

Gayle focus T20 World Cup-

“In the last few months, I have been a part of the CWI bubble. CPL bubble and then IPL bubble and I want to refresh and refresh myself mentally,” Gayle said in a statement. “I want to focus again on helping West Indies in the T20 World Cup and taking a break in Dubai. Thanks to Punjab Kings for giving me the time. My wishes and hopes are always with the team. Too good for.”

Gayle’s have come for four teams

Only six players have played more T20Is this year as compared to Gayle’s have come for four teams – West Indies, St Kitts, and Nevis Patriots, Quetta Gladiators, and Kings. The 42-year-old played two of the three Kings’ appearances since the resumption of the IPL in the UAE. King’s statement said Gayle is expected to be in Dubai before joining the West Indies squad for the World Cup starting October 17.

“I have played against Chris and coached him at Punjab Kings and for all the years I have known him. He has always been a complete professional. And we as a team have prepared ourselves for his decisions and the T20 World Cup. look forward to doing it. I respect the desire to do so.”

Before Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, and David Warner were all out for centuries earlier this year. Ben Stokes was dropped from the England Test squad after missing out on his series against India.
