IPL 2023: CSK all-rounder Moeen says MS Dhoni can play again next year. He says that Dhoni is batting incredibly well in the nets.

Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Moeen Ali believes that MS Dhoni can definitely play next year.

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni can definitely play in the Indian Premier League next year, Moeen Ali said ahead of the team’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday, April 17.
Speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Ali said that Dhoni is smashing balls in the nets and it should come as no surprise that he is playing well in IPL 2023 despite being 41.
Dhoni suffered a knee injury in the last game against Rajasthan Royals and was seen limping during the game.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan had earlier confirmed to the media that Dhoni is getting better every day and it is unlikely that he will miss the game.
It will be his batting that will stop him from playing:-
“He can definitely play again next year. The way he is playing, I don’t think it will be his batting that will stop him from playing, even if it is in two, three years’ time.
I am not surprised how he played against Rajasthan. I have been watching him in the nets, and he is batting unbelievably well.
Amazing to see someone at that age. It’s not easy when you come in so late – people forget that a lot of the time, but that’s what makes him so good in his role,” Moeen told ESPNcricinfo in an interview.
Chennai will face Faf du Plessis‘ Royal Challengers Bangalore who have been inconsistent at home. IPL has played many close matches this year.
They have already lost one of them, playing in a high-scoring game against Bangalore Supergiants.

“The wickets are looking incredible this year. It has always been a good place to bat, but I am looking forward to bowling there as well.
They are still waiting for those kinds of challenges when the bowling is nice and flat.
There is also a big derby, the South Indian derby, both the teams have huge fan following. It’s going to be a good one,” Moeen said about playing at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Chennai are currently placed sixth on the league table and will have a chance to move up to the third spot if they win the game in Bengaluru.
