CSK New Captain: MS Dhoni steps down from the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings, Rituraj Gaikwad will take over the responsibility. Chennai Super Kings has made a big change just before IPL 2024. CSK has declared Ruturaj Gaikwad as the new captain. Now Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not captain the team.
Dhoni Will Not Handle This Responsibility:-
Dhoni remained the captain of the team for a long time. Under his captaincy, CSK also won the title five times. But now they will not handle this responsibility. Dhoni has a good record in captaincy as well as batting. Ruturaj is a talented player. For this reason the management expressed confidence in him.

Just before the IPL, Dhoni’s fans got a big shock. Dhoni has left the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings. Now Rituraj will take charge of the team in his place. Dhoni has been with the team since IPL 2008.
Chennai has won the title five times so far under the captaincy of Dhoni. CSK won the IPL title in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021 and 2023. CSK had defeated Gujarat Titans in the final of last season. Chennai won this match by 5 wickets.

Chennai Super Kings has issued a statement regarding the captaincy of the team. CSK said, “Mahendra Singh Dhoni has handed over the captaincy of the team to Rituraj Gaikwad before IPL 2024.” Rituraj has been associated with the team since 2019. He has played 52 matches so far.

If we look at Ruturaj’s IPL performance, it has been good. He has scored 1797 runs in 52 matches played so far. During this period he has scored 1 century and 14 half-centuries. Ruturaj’s best IPL score has been 101 runs.
