David Warner has achieved a duck in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match for Delhi Capitals (DC) against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, May 10.

Warner was dismissed in the very first over after giving Capitals a target of 168 runs in 20 overs. In the second ball, Deepak Chahar bowled at a speed of 127 kmph and Warner tried to play the cut shot with full gusto, but he did not get the timing right and Ajinkya Rahane easily caught the catch in the point region. Warner went back to the pavilion with DC’s score at 0/1 in 0.2 overs.
How was Warner’s IPL career?
David Warner achieved his 23rd duck in the 353rd match of his T20 career. Herschelle Gibbs, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Cameron Delport, Luke Wright, Faf du Plessis, Dinesh Karthik and Daniel Christian also hold the record for 23 ducks in T20 cricket.
It was also Warner’s 11th duck in IPL history. Among foreign players, only Sunil Narine has 15 IPL ducks, Glenn Maxwell has 14 and Rashid Khan has 12 IPL ducks. David Warner is also the third highest run-scorer in IPL after Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.
He is the first batsman with the most number of 50 Fifty plus scores in IPL. After him, the names of Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli are included in this list. AB de Villiers’ name is at number three.
