Delhi Capitals Coaching Staff: Delhi Capitals Announce Jonathan Batty As Head Coach

WPL 2023: Delhi Capitals Coaching Staff – JSW-GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals today announced their coaching staff ahead of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League, which will be held in Mumbai between March 4-26. Jonathan Batty, who coached the Oval Invincibles women’s team to The Hundred titles in 2021 and 2022, has been named head coach of the team. Hemlata Kala will be Batty’s coaching deputy in the Capitals team.

Delhi Capitals Announce Jonathan Batty As Head Coach

The 48-year-old said, “I am absolutely thrilled to join the Delhi Capitals as Head Coach for the inaugural WPL. WPL 2023: Hemlata Kala will be Batty’s coaching deputy in the Capitals team

Kala, who represented India in 7 Tests and 78 ODIs, has also been the head of the national selection panel. During his tenure as chief selector, India reached the final of the ICC World Cup in 2017. Which was a milestone for women’s sports in India. “I am grateful and excited for this new role with Delhi Capitals. I look forward to getting my team together ahead of the inaugural edition of the tournament, which I believe will prove to be a game-changer for women’s cricket.”

WPL 2023: Lisa Keightley the coaching staff of Biju George Capitals

Lisa Keightley played 9 Tests and 82 ODIs for Australia. She coached the England women’s team to the 2022 ICC World Cup final. She has also served as the head coach for Perth Scorchers and Sydney Thunder in the Women’s Big Bash League. “I am very excited to join the Delhi Capitals and work with many different players and staff around the world. The WPL is a game-changer for women’s games around the world. And we have the opportunity to showcase cricket to new audiences.

Biju George, who had a successful stint with the Indian women’s team, has been named the fielding coach of the team. George also serves in the same capacity with the Delhi Capitals men’s side.

The inaugural auction of the Women’s Premier League will be held in Mumbai on February 13.
