WPL 2024 Final: Delhi Capitals Devastated By Second Consecutive Defeat, Captain Lanning in Tears. Ouch! Delhi Capitals (DC) just lost the WPL 2024 final to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). And guess what? This is their second year in a row losing the championship game! Last season, Mumbai Indians stole the trophy from them.

This Loss Hit The Delhi Capitals Players Hard:-

Their captain, Meg Lanning, got emotional and even shed a few tears. There’s a video going viral on social media where she’s wiping away tears with a tissue.

It wasn’t just Lanning – the entire team seemed heartbroken. Even the Delhi dugout looked super down after the defeat. Meanwhile, the RCB players were obviously celebrating like crazy after winning the title.

Things started off so well for Delhi, though. After winning the toss, they chose to bat first. Opener Shafali Verma and captain Lanning gave them a solid start with a 64-run partnership. But then things went downhill fast. Delhi collapsed and were all out for a measly 113 runs in 18.3 overs. RCB chased down the target comfortably in 19.3 overs.

This Loss is Definitely A Tough Pill To Swallow For Delhi:-

Two finals, two heartbreaks. Shefami Verma and captain Meg Lanning gave a very good start to Delhi Capitals after winning the toss and coming out to bat. Both of them made a partnership of 64 runs for the first wicket.

The first blow to Delhi came at the score of 64 runs in 7.1 overs. From here it seemed that Delhi would comfortably score around 170-180. But then the team faltered so much that it was all out for 113 runs in 18.3 overs. Then chasing the target, Royal Challengers Bangalore won very easily in 19.3 overs.
