New Delhi: The BCCI on Saturday announced a 15-member Indian squad for the three-match ODI series on Zimbabwe tour. It was easy for the selectors to select this team. The selectors will be in trouble next week when they have to select the squad for the Asia Cup. The deadline to announce the squad for the Asia Cup is 8 August.

According to the report of Cricbuzz, the Indian team that will be selected for the Asia Cup will go to play the T20 World Cup to be hosted by Australia in October-November. Yes, the situation will be different if players get injured. The team with the Asia Cup will be seen playing in the matches against Australia and South Africa in September and October. The selectors want the team management to play enough matches before the T20 World Cup.

Legendary players including KL Rahul will return for Asia Cup

It is certain that the legendary players including Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and KL Rahul will return for the Asia Cup. By the way, these three players are not part of the ongoing T20 International series against West Indies due to personal or health reasons.

It has been learned that KL Rahul’s health update was considered during the selection meeting on Saturday. It was found that the batsmen from Karnataka have not fully recovered from Covid so far.
