Oluhle Siyo to lead SA U-19 Womens in ICC Womens World Cup

The Cricket South Africa (CSA) Women’s Selection Committee has announced the SA U19 Women’s squad for the inaugural ICC U-19 Women T20 World Cup South Africa 2023.

The 15-player squad and two non-travelling reserves will participate in CSA Women’s Super Leagueand a five-match T20 series against India U19W leading up to the tournament. Oluhle Siyo, from Lions Cricket will lead the side with Easterns’ Madison Landman as vice-captain.

CSA High-Performance Manager, Vincent Barnes, said, “This is the first time that ICC will be hosting an U19 Women’s World Cup, so naturally, there’s loads of excitement within the women’s camp,
especially now that we are hosting the prestigious event.

“The SA U19 Coach, Dinesha Devnarain, has been preparing the squad for the past year, and I have no doubt that they will be up for the challenge of this exciting event.

SA U-19 Women’s squad for ICC U-19 Womens T-20 World Cup :-

Elandri Janse Van Rensburg (North West), Simone Lourens (Titans Cricket), Anica Swart (NorthWest), Karabo Meso (Lions Cricket); Madison Landsman (VC) (Easterns), Oluhle Siyo (C) (Lions Cricket), Kayla Reyneke (Western Province), Jenna Evans (Lions Cricket); Miane Smit (Free State),Ayanda Hlubi (KZN Coastal), Seshnie Naidu (KZN Coastal), Refilwe Moncho (Lions Cricket); Mona Lisa Legodi (Titans Cricket), Nthabiseng Nini (North West), Jemma Botha (Western Province).

Non Travelling Reserves :-

Caitlin Wyngaard (Western Province), Diara Ramlakan (Lions Cricket).

41 matches will be played between four venues with sixteen participating teams :-

Group A: Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, United States Of America (USA)
Group B: England, Pakistan, Rwanda, Zimbabwe
C Group: Indonesia, Ireland, New Zealand, West Indies
Group D: India, Scotland, South Africa, United Arab Emirates (UAE)
