The player auction for the 2024 season of the WPL is scheduled to take place on December 9 in Mumbai. According to ESPNcricinfo, an additional purse of Rs 1.5 crore (approximately US$180,228) will be available for each of the five teams.

Last season two teams had used all the money :-

In the inaugural season of the WPL, teams had ₹ 12 crore (approximately US$1.44 million) to build their squads, an amount that was exhausted by two of the five teams. WPL 2024: These teams have this much money for auction:-

Gujarat Giants, who finished bottom of the points table last season, have released almost half their squad, and will have the highest purse of Rs 5.95 crore (approximately US$714,904). There are ten slots – including three overseas Will be available to fill included.

UP Warriors, who were ranked 3rd on the points table at the end of WPL 2023, have Rs 4 crore (approximately US$480,608) to fill five slots, including one overseas. Last season’s runners-up Delhi Capitals will have Rs 2.25 crore (about US$270,342) to fill three slots in WPL 2024, which also includes an overseas spot. Mumbai will have the smallest purse among the five franchises, at INR 2.1 crore (approximately US$252,319), to fill five slots including one overseas.

WPL inaugural season was very successful :-
