Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming has hinted that he will be bidding for New Zealand’s star-wicket keeper-batsman Tim Seifert in the IPL 2021.

Three-time champions failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time in their IPL history.

The franchise will be looking to their squad and bring in dynamic players for IPL 2021. Fleming has already shortlisted one of the targets as he hinted that Chennai Super Kings will go after swashbuckling player Seifert.

“There’s a team in yellow that might have a look at you (Seifert) as well. Not just Brendon McCullum’s team, there are other teams out there,”

Tim Seifer scored 176 runs at an average and strike-rate of 88 and 139.68. His top score of an unbeated 84 came at the Seddon Park in Hamilton where he helped the Black Caps chase down 164 with four balls to spare.

Kolkata Knight Riders had signed Tim Seifert as Ali Khan’s replacement in IPL 2020. Ali Khan himself was a replacement signing. Unfortunately, even the American speedster picked up an injury, forcing KKR to sign Tim Seifert.
