IPL 2021 season postponed as SRH player tests positive

The rising numbers of Covid positives within the IPL bio bubble have led to the suspension of the season mid-way. Sunrisers Hyderabad players Covid tested positive.

SRH player tested positive ahead of their scheduled match against Mumbai Indians in Delhi today. 

The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff, and the other participants involved in organizing the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, health, and wellbeing of all the stakeholders in mind.”

“These are difficult times, especially in India. We have tried to bring in some positivity and cheer. Everyone goes back to their families and loved ones in these trying times,” the statement read.

Five ground staff at Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) tested positive for the virus. Those staff members who tested positive were not on duty. Rohan Jaitely said-

Delhi and Ahmedabad are the two venues hosting.

The BCCI will do everything in its power to arrange for the secure and safe passage of all the participants in IPL 2021.
