The Final Competition will be Playing on May 29:-

A BCCI official has told me that the schedule will be released by Sunday. Some relaxation can also be given for foreign players in IPL.

IPL 2022: A senior BCCI official told InsideSport on Friday, “The full schedule of IPL can come by Sunday.

We had some last things related to IPL which are almost on the verge of ending. The matches will be played with 25% crowd which is a great start and will be carried forward considering the COVID situation.”

IPL 2022: However, for now, the BCCI will release the schedule of league matches only and the playoff match will be announced later. The BCCI is still keen to have a playoff match in Ahmedabad but that will be decided during the tournament.

Ahmedabad is a Good Option:-

“It is too early to say where the playoffs will take place. Ahmedabad is a good option if we get at least 50% audience permission then we will consider that also. We are hoping that the playoff schedule will be announced during the opening rivalry of the IPL.”

IPL 2022 Schedule: The quarantine period will be reduced for foreign players
Meanwhile, the BCCI is also likely to approve reducing the quarantine period for foreign players.

Whereas the BCCI had earlier told the franchises that all foreign players would have to be in quarantine for five days. Now the board can reconsider it.

In view of the decline in Corona cases, the BCCI is considering only three-day quarantine for the players. Especially for the players who are coming from the second series.

South Africa will Host Bangladesh:-

Players from Australia, England, South Africa, and Bangladesh will take part in the IPL following their country’s national commitments. England will play West Indies, Australia will play Pakistan and South Africa will host Bangladesh.

The New Zealand players, who were bought during the IPL auctions, are likely to skip the Netherlands series and arrive on time.

A BCCI official told InsideSport, “The number of Covid has come down and hence we are looking at increasing the quarantine period to 3 days instead of 5 days.

But this is yet to be decided. Most of the foreign players will arrive after spending time in the bio-bubble and therefore we would not like to extend the quarantine period more than expected.
