Maxwell had been struggling with form throughout the tournament, scoring just 32 runs in six innings with a highest score of 28. He had also missed the previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad due to the injury.

The news of Maxwell’s absence will further dent RCB’s hopes of making a comeback in the tournament. They are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table with just two points from seven matches.
