IPL 2023: DC Made David The Captain And Axsar will be The Vice-Captain. Warner will lead Delhi Capitals in the upcoming IPL 2023 in place of injured Rishabh Pant.

Warner was chosen to lead the team in Pant’s absence:-

Pant had to face a horrific car accident in December 2022. The management and Ricky Ponting have chosen Australia’s star batsman to lead the team in Pant’s absence. Whereas Akshar Patel will be the vice-captain of the team.

He has prior experience in leading the team in IPL. He was the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team that won the title in the 2016 season.

The Australian captained Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and won the 2016 title with them.

He was the highest run-scorer for the team in IPL 2022 and will again open as an opener in 2023.

He was bought by the franchise in the auction for β‚Ή6.25 crore. The left-handed batsman had an impressive season, scoring 432 runs in 12 matches at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 150.52 with five half-centuries.
