The first match of IPL will be played between defending champion Gujarat and Chennai captained by MS Dhoni at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat.

Captain can change his Playing 11 after a toss:-
According to what has happened in the IPL so far, the captain has to give the playing 11 sheets before the toss. That is, after winning or losing the toss, the captain could not make any changes in his playing 11 but now it will not happen.
From this time the captain will give his playing 11 sheet after the toss, that is, if a captain wants to keep his team separate on the basis of batting or bowling first, then he can do so.
The Indian Premier League is going to be the second tournament, which is implementing this rule. Earlier this was implemented in the SAT20 league held in South Africa.
The captain used to go to the toss with a sheet containing the names of 13 players and on the basis of the toss he could choose his playing 11.
