IPL 2023: The WTC final is becoming a Cross in the way of IPL. The BCCI had promised to finish the 16th season of IPL in 74 days.

The season has to be finished in 60 days only:-

But due to the World Test Championship, the upcoming IPL (IPL 2023) season will have to be completed in 60 days.

While the BCCI has not yet officially announced the date. At the same time, according to the ICC rule, no tournament should be organized a week before or after the ICC event (WTC Final).

Apart from this, due to Women’s IPL also, BCCI will have to finish the 16th season (IPL 2023) in 60 days.

A senior BCCI official told Sport that “if you look at the whole equation, it looks very long.

The long run of IPL looks a bit difficult:-

We have women’s IPL and men’s IPL but at this point of time it seems a bit difficult to run IPL for long.

The dates haven’t been finalized yet. However, we are still trying to find out the date which is available to the players as well as the broadcasters”.

The dates of IPL and World Test Championship are very close. BCCI had planned to run 16 seasons of IPL for 74 days.

However, according to ICC rules, there should be no tournament a week before and after an ICC event. On the other hand, it is certain to get the women’s IPL done in March.

That’s why BCCI has time for IPL 16th season only in two months. On the other hand, the final match of WTC is to be played from June 7 in the year 2023.

Shah said about IPL:-

BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said about IPL, “We are talking to board members and ICC about a bigger window regarding IPL.

I assure you that the next ICC FTP calendar will have a window of two and a half months and all players can participate.
