Even before the first match, some seriously talented players like Mohammed Shami (remember him winning the Purple Cap last year?) are out due to injuries.

So, What About Their Paychecks?
Here’s the tricky part. IPL rules say if a player gets hurt or pulls out before the season starts, they don’t get paid a dime. No matches, no moolah! That’s rough.
However, there’s a silver lining. If a player gets injured during the tournament, they get paid based on the number of matches they actually play. Phew!
