IPL Auction: Out of 405 players, only 80 were sold, these players got more than 10 crores

The mini auction of IPL-2023 became a mega auction for foreign cricketers. IPL franchise owners lavished money on foreign cricketers. The bid was so huge that all records in IPL history were broken.

IPL Auction: The mini auction lasted for about six hours :-

The mini auction started at 2.30 pm on Friday and ended at around 9.45 pm. That is, the auction lasted for about six hours. A total of 405 players went to the auction, out of which only 80 players got bid. Out of these 29 players were foreigners.

Including 10 teams, a total amount of 206.5 was to buy players. Out of this, only Rs 167 crore was spent. Out of this, 103.95 crore i.e. 62.25 percent amount went to the account of all-rounders.

English captain Ben Stokes and Nicholas Pooran of West Indies :-

The record of the previous bid of Rs 12.5 crore on English Test captain Ben Stokes also broken. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore.

He also became the joint third costliest cricketer in IPL auction history. At the same time, Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies, who performed poorly last season, was surprised by buying Lucknow for 16 crores.

With this, Puran made another record in auction history. As a wicketkeeper, he became the most expensive player ever.

Hyderabad bought Harry Brook for 13.25 crores :-

Sunrisers Hyderabad bought English batsman Harry Brook, who performed brilliantly on Asian soil, for a whopping amount of Rs 13.25 crore. After this, the team spent a hefty amount of Rs 5.25 crore on South African wicket-keeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen.

The most expensive top-5 cricketers of the bid were foreigners :-

The most expensive top-5 cricketers of the bid were foreigners, who were bought for a total of Rs 81.5 crore. Apart from Karan, these include Cameron Green (17.50 crores), Ben Stokes (16.25 crores), Nicholas Pooran (16 crores) and Harry Brook (13.25 crores).
