The Limited-overs series of India against Australia has summed up, and now all the eyes are on the purest format of the game. Hosts named the ODI series in their favour, whereas the T20I series went in the account of Indians.

Cricket analyst Aakash Chopra feels that Rishabh Pant might have to wait for IPL 2021 to get a place in India’s playing XI.

Chopra stated that he was not even played as a fielder in the warm-up match against Australia A side.

Aakash Chopra was asked how Pant can mark his comeback in the Indian team in any format of the game. Aakash Chopra said that it’s going to be tough as the wicketkeeper-batsman is not on the priority lsit in any form of the game.

“It is a tough question. Rishabh Pant is standing last in the queue and at the bottom of the list of Indian wicket-keepers at the moment. The Indian team had one option, when we had the India A vs Australia A match, they could have played six batsmen instead of five. You could have got Wriddhiman Saha to keep wickets but play Rishabh for sure,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

Chopra added that a call could have been taken between Saga and Pant after seeing both of them bat. He added that Pant has just been sitting on the bench for the entire tour till now.

“But now they have not played him there, and he was not there in the ODI and T20I squad. So, he has only gone as a tourist to Australia till now. He has not done any work till now,” he added.

Chopra also pointed out that since Pant is with the team, he can’t even make his appearance in domestic cricket.

He might be used as a substitute whenever there is a requirement. For making a proper comeback in the team, he would have to wait till IPL 2021.
