Keacy Carty has become the first player to be selected for West Indies by St Maarten.

A Selected for the international team of the overs:-

Keacy Carty, 25, and fast bowlers Jaden Seals and Shermon Lewis were on Monday selected in West Indies’ first limited-overs international squad for short tours to the Netherlands and Pakistan. Seals and Lewis, however, have played at the Test level.

Former captain Jason Holder and top-order batsmen Shimron Hetmyer and Evin Lewis were not considering for selection.

Holder is resting to manage his workload, Hetmyer is home to the birth of his first child, and Lewis doesn’t meet the fitness criteria.

Carty won the CWI against England in March:-

The 25-year-old had scored 57 and 49 in the Test warm-up game for CWI President’s XI against England in March.

Chief selector Desmond Haynes said of the uncapped batsman, “We were impressing by Carty and the way he approaches his innings.” In the way, he playing against England, we seeing many glimpses of his potential.

We hope he recognizes the importance of representing the West Indies by giving him this opportunity. We think he is a young batsman who has big promises and can show the kind of tour he fits into.

Pakistan to host ODI matches:-

The West Indies and the Netherlands meet for the first time in an ODI series in Amstelveen, with matches on 31 May, 2 June, and 4 June. Rawalpindi will host Pakistan ODIs on June 8, 10, and 12.

“We have a very good group of young fast bowlers who have shown their potential and we want to use these two tours to give them opportunities in the 50-over format,” Haynes said.

“We have a week in the Netherlands and another week in Pakistan and this should provide them with quality opposition to bowl to as they head towards the Cricket World Cup in 2023.”
