Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Eoin Morgan has been fined Rs 12 lakhs for keeping slow to over-rate during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
CSK won by 18 runs over KKR on Wednesday night with the help of Faf Du Plessis’s unbeaten 95 runs and Deepak Chahar’s four wickets. CSK scored 220 for three in this big-score match. In response, KKR was dismissed for 202 runs.
“Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan has been fined for slow over-rate during the IPL match against Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium on April 21,” the IPL said in a statement.
According to the statement, “Under the IPL Code of Conduct of the team, this is the first case of slow over-rate of the season from Morgan has been fined Rs. 12 lakhs.”
According to IPL rules, the team captain is fined Rs 12 lakh in the first case of slow over-rate. if a team breaks the rules of slow-over for the first time, then the captain is fined Rs 12 lakh.
If the Kolkata Knight Riders team makes this mistake for the second time in the same season, then the captain is put on 24 lakhs and 25 percent match fees on the remaining players or Rs 6 lakhs
