In India, the situation is worsening due to Coronavirus Pandemic. There is a continuous case of lack of oxygen in hospitals in many cities of the country. Meanwhile, Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins, playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021, has come up with good work.

Cummins has announced to give Rs 37 lakh to the PM Cares fund. This is particularly helpful for procuring oxygen supplies for hospitals in India. Cummins shared this message by sharing a message on his official Twitter account.

Cummins also said that he has been advised that the Indian government supports the continuation of the IPL and believes that in this difficult time it provides ‘some hours of pleasure.

He made the announcement in a statement on his official Twitter handle and requested other top players to do the same as the country is battling the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic.

He said in his statement, “There is a lot of discussions here whether the continuation of IPL is justified while the rate of Covid-19 infection remains very high.” Cummins said in this statement, “I have been advised that the Indian government understands that playing in the Indian Premier League gives people living in lockdown a few hours of pleasure and relief each day while the country is going through a difficult time.”

Cummins has also appealed to all the players playing in the IPL to come forward and help. Four foreign players have returned home due to fear of Corona, including Liam Livingstone, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa, and Kane Richardson.
