KKR star all-rounder Andre Russell created history in IPL 2021

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star all-rounder Andre Russell has taken 5 wickets and created history against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday in IPL 2021.

On the basis of this brilliant performance, the team reduced Mumbai’s innings to 152 runs. Russell took five wickets for 15 runs in two overs, allowing Mumbai to just 38 runs, losing seven wickets in the last five overs.

With this, Russell has become the first bowler in IPL history who has shown the feat of taking five wickets in two overs. Also, his name has now become the record for the best bowling for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.

He left his teammate spinner, Sunil Narine, behind in this matter. Narine took five wickets for 19 runs against Kings XI Punjab in 2012 from Kolkata Knight Riders 9 years ago.

Apart from this, now Russell also has the record for the best bowling against the five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians. He left behind RCB fast bowler Harshal Patel in this case. Harshal took five wickets for 27 runs against Mumbai in the same season.

Russell, who came for bowling in the 18th over of Mumbai’s innings, take wickets of Kieron Pollard and Marco Jenson for two consecutive balls. however, missed out on a hat-trick. Krunal Pandya hit two consecutive fours in the last over, but Russell finished Krunal on his nine-ball innings with a 15-run knock.

On the very next ball, he sent Jasprit Bumrah to the pavilion without opening the account, while Rahul Chahar was out on the last ball after scoring 8 runs

Pat Cummins took two wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders, while Varun Chakravarthy, Shakib Al Hasan, and Prasidh Krishna took one wicket each.
