To be honest, we gifted them the match

Kohli said after the match, “To be honest, we gifted him the match. We deserved to lose and didn’t show a professional enough game, bowled well but the fielding was not up to standard. We gave them a free gift.”

RCB fielders gave two lives to Knight Riders captain Rana while Roy also dropped a catch

Kohli said, “We missed two chances in the field which cost us 25 to 30 runs. We were in a good position with the bat but then we lost 4-5 wickets easily. They were not wicket-taking balls but we hit shots straight into the hands of the fielders. Chasing down the target even after losing wickets, a partnership got us back in the match. We couldn’t have put together another good partnership.”

Chasing Knight Riders’ target of 201, RCB’s team could only manage 179 for eight despite Kohli’s (54 off 37 balls, six fours) half-century. Apart from him, only Mahipal Lomror (34) and Dinesh Karthik (22) could cross the 20-run mark.
