He has not been able to play tournaments for 9 years due to different reasons. Starc himself confirmed this and said why this season is going to be special and will help him personally for the World Cup.

Starc played IPL for RCB till 2015 (2 seasons). In 2016, he was ruled out due to injury and after that, he stayed away from the tournament due to different reasons, such as due to lack of time due to international schedule and sometimes due to personal reasons. It is estimated that this reduced his personal earnings by $10 million. But this time Starc himself has confirmed that he would like to play in the IPL ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup in the United States.

“I’m definitely going back to the IPL in [next] year,” Starc told the Willow Talk Cricket podcast. Among other things, it will be a good platform ahead of the T20 World Cup. So it will be interesting to see if there is any interest in me in the IPL, and then go to the T20 World Cup. Next year has a lighter schedule than this year so I think this is a perfect opportunity to put my name down.”

Starc- Many times ruled out due to injury

In IPL 2014, Mitchell Starc was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 5 crore. Stark played 2 seasons for RCB. He was ruled out in 2016 due to a hand injury. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him in 2018 but once again he could not play due to injury.
