IPL 2024: Rohit Scored A Century in IPL After 12 Years, Still Joined The Unwanted Club. This is one for the history books, but not in the way Mumbai Indians would have liked. Rohit Sharma smashed a century against Chennai Super Kings, but his team still ended up losing the match.

This is only the third time in IPL history that a player chasing a target scored a century, and his team still lost! Rohit’s unbeaten 105 runs off 63 balls went in vain.

Here’s the story: Chennai batted first and put up a strong total of 206 runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad (69) and Shivam Dube (66) batted brilliantly, and Dhoni chipped in with a quick 20.

In reply, Rohit went berserk! He hammered 11 fours and 5 sixes in his explosive 105-run knock.

But wait, there’s more! Despite Rohit’s heroics, Mumbai could only manage 186 runs and lost the match.

This was a bitter pill to swallow for Rohit. This was just his second IPL century, and it came after a long gap of 12 years.

So, the question remains – did Rohit’s century contribute to Mumbai’s loss? Did it put too much pressure on the remaining batsmen?
