IPL 2024: Rohit Sharma Made Serious Allegations Against Star Sports, What is The Whole Matter? IPL 2024 turned out rough for Rohit Sharma’s old team, the Chennai Super Kings. But Rohit himself stayed in the news, and this time, it wasn’t about his batting. He’s accusing Star Sports of messing with his privacy!

So, What Happened?

A video went viral showing Rohit chatting with his former Mumbai Indians teammate, Dhawal Kulkarni, before a match against the Lucknow Super Giants. Suddenly, Rohit realizes someone’s recording their conversation.

What Did Rohit Do?

He politely asks the cameraman to stop recording, saying, “Dude, switch off the audio, please. Seriously, one recording went viral and it messed me up.”

But that’s not all.

Star Sports went ahead and aired the conversation anyway, without Rohit’s permission!

Needless to say, Rohit was not happy. He took to Twitter to blast Star Sports, saying, “Our lives as cricketers are becoming way too intrusive. Cameras are now following our every move and recording every conversation, even when we’re having private chats with friends or teammates during practice or on match days.”

He’s Worried About More Than Just A Leaked Chat

Rohit argues that the constant need for “exclusive content” and chasing views and engagement will eventually break the trust between fans, cricketers, and the sport itself.

This whole situation has people talking.

Should cricketers worry about their privacy even outside the stadium? Does the media have the right to go to any lengths for ratings?
