In the Under-19 World Cup, Papua New Guinea (PNG) on Wednesday announced their squad for the upcoming ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup to be played in the West Indies. Captain Barnabas Maha will lead Papua New Guinea.

The Host of the 14th Edition of the WC :-

The West Indies will host the 14th edition of the Under-19 World Cup for the first time, as 16 teams will travel to the Caribbean to compete in 48 matches from January 14, on the occasion featuring the sport’s longtime stars. February 5 in the four host countries.

Under-19 World Cup:- “Cricket PNG PIH Under-19 Squad Released. The Cricket PNG PIH U19 15 men’s team is currently playing at Amini Park Cricket Ground. Of the 18 men’s training squad, 15 have been selected for the final squad. Staff will leave for West Indies on 1st Jan 2022,” Cricket PNG tweeted.

The sixteen groups competing will see Group A from current holders Bangladesh, England, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates, with debutants Uganda, India, South Africa, and Ere in Group B.

Group C consists of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and Papua New Guinea and Group D consists of hosts West Indies, Australia, and Sri Lanka. Scotland completed the match lineup in Group D. And in addition to New Zealand withdrawing. Which is a result of intensive required quarantine restrictions for minors upon their return home.

The Under-19 WC 48 Match Schedule :-

The hosts will begin with West Indies taking over Australia, with Sri Lanka taking on Scotland in Guyana on January 14. The group stage will take place throughout Guyana, St. Kitts, and Nevis, and Trinidad. Tobago between January 14 and 22.

Trinidad and Tobago will host plate partners between January 25 and 31, with redundant leagues in Antigua and Barbuda from January 26.
