Punjab bowlers looted a lot of runs in this match. Only Rishi Dhawan and Nathan Ellis could bowl well. Apart from this, Arshdeep Singh took 66 runs in 3.5 overs, while Sam Curran gave 41 runs in 3 overs.
Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar also proved to be very expensive. After this crushing defeat, Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan looked disappointed with the bowling.
We should have bowled a bit off stump and off in the powerplay:-
Dhawan said after the match β We started very well and thought it was a very good total, but unfortunately, we could not defend it.
I think of course Rishi bowled really well, but from the other end we kept bowling outside. We should have bowled a bit off-stump and off in the powerplay.
Other Bowlers Didnβt Step Up Today:-
Shikhan said about the pitch β it was a very good wicket. We thought the pace of change would come in handy. Nathan bowled really well but the other bowlers didnβt step up today.
There was dew on the ground and the wicket got a little better. I also felt that if a spinner gets hit, it becomes difficult to stop runs.
Ishaan Kishan scored 75 runs in 41 balls for Mumbai. On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav played a blistering inning of 66 runs in 31 balls, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes.
