Sundar wants to continue the confidence gained from Test cricket in IPL as well

Off-spinner Washington Sundar of India and Royal Challengers Bangalore said that the confidence and morale he got from Test cricket would like him to continue in the current Indian Premier League (IPL).

Washington made a Test debut in Brisbane earlier this year, scoring 62 runs in the first innings, taking three wickets. He played a crucial 22-run innings on the last day of the match, helping the Indian team register a memorable win.

“I think a good performance in Test cricket definitely enhances the confidence of any cricketer,” Washington said in an online event.

“The Indian team has been performing brilliantly for the last few years and getting a chance to play a Test match at the top level for any youth, especially me, is like a dream come true,” he said. The 21-year-old played against England last month. Was also a member of the Indian team that recorded a 3–1 win.

Washington said, “We played against the two top teams Australia and England. Performing well and winning against them gave me a lot of confidence. “Yes, I would like to continue this confidence and rhythm in the upcoming matches of the IPL.”
